Socialive Contributor Role

Role Summary

The role of Contributor is an account-level user role within Socialive. This user role is able to join sessions and contribute videos to the Recordings Library through both desktop and mobile apps. This user role is best used to capture or upload the pre-recorded video to Socialive without a producer and without joining the Green Room.

Once content has been recorded, that content uploads automatically into the Recordings Library to be further produced/edited/ or repurposed.

The following outlines the available methods for Contributors to contribute content:

  • Record directly within the mobile app
  • Upload videos from a device’s camera roll
  • Upload videos from desktop
  • Join the Green Room (from the desktop and the mobile app) and record

Record within the mobile app

Contributors can directly record content using either the iOS or Android mobile app in up to 1080p resolution. For instructions to capture an internal recording, refer to the articles below.

Upload videos from a device camera roll

Contributors can upload videos from their device camera roll to the Recordings Library using the iOS or Android mobile app. For instructions on how to upload videos, refer to the article below.

Upload videos from the desktop to the Recordings Library

Join the Green Room (from the desktop and the mobile app) and record

Lastly, Contributors can join the Green Room (from the desktop and the mobile app) and record by clicking the record button. This saves both a cloud and local recording to the Recordings Library. The following article serves as a guide for guests and contributors to capture device recordings without a host present, here you can find instructions for both desktop and mobile.
