Uploading Video Recordings to the Recordings Library

With Socialive, you can upload great video directly to Socialive. Once the videos are uploaded to the Recordings Library, they can be incorporated into future content, or create on-brand, engaging content by adding branded overlays, and more. This article provides instructions on how to upload videos to the Recordings Library with the Socialive iOS app or on a desktop.




Prerequisites for the iOS App

Before you start, you need to install the Socialive iOS app on your iPhone or iPad. Once you have the app installed, turn on Do Not Disturb, turn off Portrait Lock, and close other apps running in the background.


Process for the iOS App

  1. Open the Socialive app and log in to your Socialive account.
  2. Make sure you are on the correct channel. The channel name appears in the top-left corner. To change to another account, follow the steps in this article.
  3. On the Record tab, tap the option to Upload to Your Recordings Library.
  4. Select the video you want to upload from your camera roll. You can only upload one video at a time.
  5. Enter the name of your recording.
  6. Tap on Upload to Library.
  7. On the next screen, you will see that your recording is being uploaded to the Recordings Library. Wait until the upload is complete before exiting the app. It may take several minutes to upload a video.


Process for Desktop 


Upload videos captured from your desktop to the Recordings Library using the upload feature. This article provides instructions to upload recordings from the desktop to Socialive.


  1. Go to the Socialive Recordings Library.

  2. Click the Create button in the upper right corner and select Upload.

  3. In the pop-up that appears, select the Space where you want to upload the recording.4. Select the videos you want to upload. These can be in MP4, MPEG, MOV, WebM, and AVI format. The maximum file size is 9999 GB. ProRes files are not supported.5. Wait for the videos to upload completely.            6. Once the videos are uploaded, you can leave Socialive while the videos are processing.
