The Socialive Green Room and Recording Booth for web browsers each support basic background effects during recording—blurred backgrounds or background images. However, users running up-to-date operating systems (Windows 11 or Mac OS 15) can deploy these same effects and also take advantage of several other filters that are not available in the browser by setting them directly at the camera level. These effects apply to your Socialive recordings as well as any other video recordings you make on your device without making any changes in Socialive.
If you are running one of these operating systems, especially if you are seeing mixed results from the basic effects in the browser, consider utilizing the operating system camera effects.
This article will describe how to access these effects tools on Mac and Windows, but we recommend reviewing Apple or Microsoft support for the most updated step-by-step instructions.

When your browser or any application uses your camera, the camera icon will appear to the right in the top toolbar.
Clicking the camera icon will give you access to all the controls for camera effects, filters for your selected camera, and some microphone mode options.
Some options may depend on the specifics of your hardware and chipset—please consult this Apple help article for complete details.
