Livestreaming to Zoom with RTMP

With Socialive, you can upgrade your Zoom webinars and events with Socialive's Studio and Green Room. RTMP is the Real-Time Messaging Protocol that allows you to livestream video over the internet. Zoom calls this feature RTMP for Zoom Webinar; Zoom Webinar (by itself) is a separate product. To use this feature, customers must have a Sessions or Events license assigned to a user.


Livestreaming to Zoom with RTMP means:


  • You can easily create dynamic livestreams and deliver them to your audience in Zoom’s secure and familiar Webinar platform.

  • Capture recordings of all presenters and repurpose the content.


This article will review the steps to setting up livestreaming from Socialive to Zoom with RTMP. 



Prerequisites 

  1. To be added, you need an active Zoom Sessions or Zoom Events license assigned to the email you use to log in to Zoom.

  2. Must have a Sessions or Events license assigned to a user.

  3. Access to this feature usually requires a paid plan through Zoom. 

Setup

Zoom

  1. Within the Zoom session details, select Session 

  2. Click the Livestream tab 

  3. Copy the stream key information to be added to Socialive 

  4. Click Save

Socialive 

  1. Within the Studio Session, go to livestream and click the zoom icon in the ribbon.  

  1. In the pop-up that appears, click Add RTMP.

  1. Another pop-up will appear. Enter the following information.

    1. Label - Enter the name of the account you are adding.

    2. Server URL - Paste the platform's Server URL.

    3. Stream Key - Paste the platform's Stream Key.

  1. Click Save. The account will appear under the RTMP channels, and you can now stream to it.
