Livestreaming Video to a Microsoft Teams Event

In a Microsoft Teams live event, you can stream video from Socialive to Microsoft Stream via RTMP. This article will review the steps for livestreaming events into Microsoft Teams. 


1. From the Teams calendar, click the + New Meeting dropdown then select Live event.

2. Enter the meeting details, enable Allow External Presenters, then, click next.



3. Select the desired live event permissions (who can attend), then turn on Teams Encoder, and lastly click Schedule. Here you can also enable any additional options such as Q&A.

4. Once the event is scheduled, double-click the meeting on your calendar and navigate to

    Get RTMP URL and Get RTMP Key. 


    Clicking each will copy the details to your clipboard. Paste these details into the         

    destinations panel in Socialive. Use these steps to enter the RTMP URL and RTMP Key as a

    destination in Socialive.

5. When ready to stream, first join the meeting in Teams, then start streaming to the live event in Socialive.

6. After approximately 10 seconds, the stream will appear as an option under Presenters.

7. Select Custom RTMP, then Send Live to begin the Socialive stream. 


8. Click Start when ready to begin (this includes intro/hold slides)
