Integrations: Connecting Your LinkedIn Account

This article provides instructions to connect your LinkedIn account to Socialive. Integrating LinkedIn with Socialive allows you to send recordings directly from Socialive to LinkedIn.

Prerequisites 

To connect LinkedIn to Socialive, you need to:

• Have a company page LinkedIn account 

• Be an Administrator in your Socialive account

  • Note: LinkedIn allows videos with a max duration of 30 minutes and max file size of 200 MB to be sent through the integration

1. In Socialive, open the Settings menu and select Integrations.
   
   
   

2. Click Add Integration
   

3. Select Send to LinkedIn
   

4. Add an integration title (or use default) and click Save. 

Giving a title is useful when creating integrations for different departments. For example “Send to Marketing LinkedIn” versus the default “Send to LinkedIn.”

5. Authenticate your LinkedIn Account ID to connect or select an existing authentication. If authenticating for the first time click New Authentication.   

6. Add the Authentication Name and click Create.
   

7. Sign in to LinkedIn to view the authentication confirmation and click Allow.
   

8. On the next screen enter your Organization ID and click Finish

   • This can be found in your company's LinkedIn URL.

   • For example, if the URL is https://www.linkedin.com/company/12345678, the Organization ID is 12345678

9. View Integration
         

10. Go to the Recordings Library and select a recording
    

11. Send recording to LinkedIn
    

12. View the post on LinkedIn 

    • The post is published on LinkedIn as an MP4 (no transcript)

    • The title of the video will be the same as what’s included in the Socialive recording 

    • Any content included in the description of the recording will be displayed in the LinkedIn post. The description can be updated from the LinkedIn side without changing the Socialive description.

Sending Recordings to LinkedIn

• The video must be less than 30 minutes in duration.

• The file size must be less than 200 MB.

  • Please remember that video file size will vary by output resolution and impact the maximum duration. An email notification will be sent when the upload is complete or if there is an issue with sending it to LinkedIn. The email will provide a link to the video on LinkedIn.

• Transfer times may vary depending on the file size, but most files will be uploaded within 15 minutes.

• Additional time may be required for the video to process on LinkedIn.
