Reload a Live Source in Studio

In Socialive Studio, a host, producer, or admin can reload individual guest streams within the live sources area. This can be useful if the guest has video quality issues during a recording or livestream.

This is the same capability that guests themselves have access to in the Green Room for their own streams, but it can also be initiated on their behalf by the host, producer, or admin from Studio.

This article will review the steps to initiate a live source reload in Studio.

In Socialive, click the arrow within the live source and select Reload. The stream stops and then reloads. This will be visible in the following areas:

  • Live sources (left side panel)

  • Preview

  • Scene list (wherever the stream appears)

  • Livestream

If the live source feed is reloaded while that guest is live, the composite recording in Socialive will remove any black frames or blips during the reload duration, just as it does if the guest reloads their own feed from the Green Room.
