Aspect Ratio in the Socialive Editor

The Socialive Editor supports making videos in vertical aspect ratios. The video aspect ratio determines how the video frame appears on different screens. Common ratios like 4:5 and 16:9 cater to different display preferences and provide varying fields of view. Vertical aspect ratios are ideal to use on content for social. They maximize the screen real estate available when the viewer is consuming content on mobile.

With the Socialive Editor, it’s easy to generate different aspect ratios of the same video content for different destination platforms.

In this article, we will review the steps to set the aspect ratio.

  • Double click a source to open the zoom and pan tool for fine-tuning the look of your video.

  • Aspect ratio is applied to the entire video. You can’t have it switch in the middle.

  • Default selection in Editor is 16:9

  • You can set the aspect ratio in a preset.

  • We recommend naming the video with the relative aspect ratio.
