The Green Room is the interface in which guests experience a recording session, in this case, through an Android mobile device. Socialive mobile guests experience the Studio differently than producers or web guests do. This article provides an overview of the features available in the mobile Green Room to all guests.
Overview of the Green Room Lobby
Before you enter the Green Room, you will be in the lobby. From the Green Room lobby, you can see and do the following:
Join Green Room: Tap on the green buttons on top of your video feed or the green arrow at the top right corner to enter the Green Room.
Switch Camera: Tap to switch between the front and back camera of your device.
Mute: Tap to mute or unmute yourself.
Settings: Tap to open General Settings. Here you can select whether to show or hide the framing guides.
Overview of the Green Room
The Green Room is where you can see and interact with the producer and other guests. Once you join the Green Room, you'll see other features:
You will be able to see other guests and the producer in the gallery view.
- Tap your feed to choose whether to pin your feed (maximize) and "fit to frame" or "fill frame."
- Tap on the Guest icon at the top-left corner to see the Guest List. From here, you can tap on a guest's name to pin or maximize their video or tap on the speaker icon next to their name to mute them (to yourself only).
- Tap the message icon at the top-left corner to open the chat. This is where you can communicate with the producer and other guests in the Green Room. When the chat is not open and there's a new message, a notification will appear at the bottom of the screen and the message icon will have a red badge showing there are unread messages.
- Tap the Health Monitor in the top-right corner to see your health stats. The health monitor shows 5 different statuses: Great, Good, Fine, Poor, and Very Poor, depending on the quality of your video feed. Tap on the health monitor icon to see other stats such as your Frame Rate, Resolution, and Bitrate.
Tap the record button on the right-hand side to start a local recording. This will open a prompt that shows the number of minutes you can record based on the available free space.
Tap the end call button on the right-hand side to leave. This will prompt you to confirm that you want to leave.
Tap the microphone icon on the right-hand side to mute and unmute yourself throughout. This will mute you to other guests in the Green Room and the audience if you are live.
Tap the settings on the right-hand side icon to access the advanced settings. These are the same settings you have access to from the Green Room lobby.
