Using Templates in the Socialive Editor

Templates in the Socialive Editor make creating polished, on-brand videos faster and easier; no design or editing expertise required. Whether you're creating employee spotlights, product highlights, or executive updates, templates help you produce consistent, professional videos.

What Are Templates?

Templates are pre-built video layouts with customizable branding elements like logos, colors, styled subtitles, background music and graphics. They’re designed to help you quickly and efficiently create repeatable content types while staying within your brand guidelines.

Key Benefits

  • Brand Consistency Templates ensure all videos follow your organization’s brand identity, including fonts, colors, and logo placement.

  • Faster Turnaround Using ready-made layouts reduces the time spent editing. Just drop in your video and export.

  • Scalable Content Creation Templates make creating high-quality videos easy for anyone without needing a designer or video editor.

How to Use a Template in the Editor

  1. Click Projects

  1. Select the template

  1. Customize: Add pre-recorded content, record yourself, or invite to record

  1. Add in any additional edits

  1. Preview and export your file to the library

Creating a New Template

Your organization's Socialive Admin or Producer creates and manages templates. If you’d like to request a new template or modify an existing one, contact your internal Socialive Admin or Producer. Creators can create projects and request that they be saved as templates in their space.

  1. Click Projects

  1. Click Blank project

  1. Design the template layout.

  1. Save as a template. (Only Admins or Producers can edit or create templates.)

  1. The template is now available in the Projects templates area. Creators, Producers, and Admins can create new projects using templates.

To edit a template, click edit for the template you’d like to edit.

Best Practices

  • Use templates for repeatable content types to save time and maintain consistency.

  • Keep messaging concise: templates work best with clear and minimal content.

  • Test before exporting to make sure timing and placement align with your video.
