Socialive Update • July 2021
Director’s mic remains open so they can talk to everyone without their audio being part of the broadcast
The Socialive Virtual Green Room is a safe, distinct space behind the scenes, separating what the audience sees from the work that goes into delivering a quality experience. Our latest update to the Green Room introduces Guest Directors so you can include PR, Comms and other experts who contribute to the content, but are not on camera.

How it Works
When a broadcast begins, a Guest Director’s mic will remain open so they can talk to everyone, whether they are being broadcast to the audience or not.
Once your guests join the Green Room, the Producer can assign the Guest Director role to specific people. Guest Directors are identified by a badge in the bottom right corner of their video feed, next to the health indicator. When a broadcast begins, a Guest Director’s mic will remain open so they can talk to everyone, whether they are being broadcast to the audience or not.
Notes on Guest Directors
Guest Directors can still be added to a scene
Producers can assign the Director role to Guests with a Socialive Account when building out Scenes and a Run of Show before a session
If this is a guest’s first time in Socialive, the Producer will have to wait until the guest’s account is created to assign them the Director role
The Guest Director badge is also shown to Producers in Studio
