Bringing External Cameras as Live Sources into Socialive

Why Use an External Camera?

Integrated cameras normally are 720p cameras that do not perform well in low-light conditions, whereas most external webcams (connected via USB) or DLSR cameras (requires capture cards) will be 1080p and have better low-light performance.

External cameras may be used to increase the quality of a live broadcast or recording. The capture cards convert the external camera (often a DSLR or other professional cameras) into a webcam to be recognized as a live source in Socialive.

Are Blackmagic Capture Cards and Playback Cards Supported?

Socialive currently supports Blackmagic capture cards or playback cards to bring video sources from external devices into both the Green Room (as guests) and Socialive Studio.
