Green Room: Chat Panel

In the Green Room, you can use the chat to communicate with other guests and the producer without interrupting the recording or livestream. This article provides information about the chat panel and its features.


Toggling Chat

The chat panel is open by default. Click the chat icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen to hide the chat.

When the chat panel is not open, you will be able to preview incoming messages as they appear in a toast message, displayed in the upper-right corner. Additionally, you will also see a number badge on the chat icon when there are unread messages.


Chat Formatting

In the chat panel, you can format your messages using the following shortcodes:

:emoji-code:

Add a colon followed by the emoji code or emoji alias to add emojis to your text. If you don’t know the exact emoji code, you can search for a word to find the emoji you’re looking for.

@John Smith

Add the @ symbol and select the guest from the list or type the guest’s name to mention someone in the chat.

https://socialive.us

URLs starting with https:// will appear hyperlinked. Email addresses will not appear hyperlinked.

`highlight`

Surround text with backticks to create a code.

Add 1 and a period, then press space in front of text to start an ordered list. Press Shift + Space to add a line break.

Add an asterisk or hyphen and press space in front of text to start an unordered list. Press Shift + Space to add a line break.
