What is Targeting?

Target your organic Company Page posts to a specific language, location, region, university, function, seniority, industry, or company size.

Organic post targeting is free (as opposed to LinkedIn ad targeting).

Targeting determines who is eligible to receive a notification about your live broadcast. The broadcast will appear on the Company Page feed for all visitors, regardless of targeting.

The targeted audience feature allows you to tailor posts to a specific subset of followers.

This is especially useful for global Pages with multiple geographic audiences.

Avoid alienating segments of your audience for whom the message won’t resonate.

Why would I want fewer impressions?

  1. Targeted posts are more relevant

  2. More relevant posts drive engagement

  3. Engagement drives more viral potential

Step 1: Add your LinkedIn Company Page

  • Click Connect Account

  • Select Company Pages

  • Sign into your LinkedIn account

Step 2: Set Target Audience

Targeting is only available for Company Page posts, not personal Profile posts.

Step 3: Save your selected audience

Note that LinkedIn requires a target audience of at least 300 followers. You will not be able to save targeting selections if your estimated audience is less than 300.
